Wakiso locals pin Security forces for conniving with land grabbers
Hajjati Hadijjah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Senior Presidential Advisor/Head, Office of the National Chairman at (NRM) has vowed to crackdown on individuals and groups grabbing land and illegally evicting locals.
Namyalo Uzeiye made the call while meeting with Wakiso residents locals and NRM leaders in the area including Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and town clerks. She vowed to fight land grabbers allegedly collaborating with a section of security officers ‘tooth and nail’ to eliminate corruption and land grabbing in the district.
The group endorsed President Yoweri Kaguta to run for 2026 presidency under “omalako jjaja to a ku main campaign at Nsangi Municipality in Wakiso District. The event was attended by other NRM bigwigs including Rosemary Sseninde the NRM Director for Mobilization, Hajji Kiyimba the NRM chairman Wakiso District , Maj Charles Kabona, the spokesperson UPDF First Division among others.
Namyalo stated that she has received several complaints from the public indicating that some individuals are collaborating with security forces to evict and grab land from unsuspecting locals. She explained that some of them use President Museveni’ s name to send people away.

” President Museveni has never sent anyone here to evict people from their piece of land. They hide under the President’s name saying they have been sent to evict people. They also bribe some local leaders and security officers ,Let us mobilize and fight these land grabbers,” said Namyalo
She called on the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and Maj Charles Kabona, the spokesperson UPDF First Division to investigate soldiers who support land grabbers.
“When you ask the President , he dismisses these claims but who sends them, Major Kabona, please investigate, because in some places, land evictions are carried out by soldiers who claim they have orders from above to evict land owners, they even shoot dead or batter victims in the process. My team even stopped another eviction exercise manned by police and army” she said
On his part, Kabona refuted claims that the army is behind some illegal evictions. He called on the public to report such incidents to police for thorough investigations.
The Wakiso District RDC, Justine Mbabazi advised people to create groups and be whistle blowers to fight over land grabbers just in case one try to evict then. Mbabazi also notes out that they also have a challenge of corrupt government officials who swindle their money given to people by the president.
Meanwhile Ssenide assured the public that the NRM will regain their victory in Wakiso District. She advised NRM members to desist from fighting each other because it boosts other parties to thrive.
On another note, Namyalo called on the public to take advantage of existing Government programmes to alleviate poverty. She also warned local leaders against embezzling funds meant for locals.
During the event Namyalo gave out items worth millions to Wakiso District ahead of the victory day celebrations including cows, rice, water, and many more other goodies it was received by Hajji Kiyimba the NRM chairman Wakiso District and Henry Luyinda.
