Vianna Indi, a prominent media personality in Uganda, recently shared insights into her unique journey from a church-centered upbringing to a dynamic career in entertainment.

In a candid conversation, Indi explained how her upbringing, although rooted in the church, was influenced by progressive parents who exposed her to diverse global experiences.

I have a church background, but I grew up with updated and dotcom parents who wouldn’t limit my accessibility to many things around the world, like watching and listening to different kinds of music,” she said.

Indi noted that while her parents allowed her to express herself through her clothing choices—avoiding anything too revealing—they maintained their commitment to attending church.

Indi also commented on societal judgments regarding personal expression.

I think society is being judgmental about what people express outwardly compared to what is in their hearts,” she remarked.

Today, Vianna Indi is a leading figure in Uganda’s media scene. She is part of the esteemed team known as the Fantastic 5, which includes Douglas Lwanga, MC Kats, DVJ Mercy, and DJ Roja. Together, they host the popular entertainment show ‘NBS After5’ on NBS TV, further establishing Indi’s prominent role in the industry.
