Events promoter Juma Balunywa categorically maintained that it is against the ethical code of conduct for members belonging to the United National Events Promoters Association (UNEPA) to hold two concerts on the same date.
He explains that the ruling was passed during the formation of the association but the then president, Abbey Musinguzi alias Abtex Promotions bleached the rule.
That was when Abtex pitched Alien Skin’s debut concert against Balaam Barugahara who had spent months advertising Pallaso’s show that was slated to take place at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
As United National Events Promoters Association, it is against our ethical code for our members to organize Concerts on the same dates.
Promoter Abtex was the first to break the United National Events Promoters Association’s ethical conduct when he organized Alien Skin’s Concert on the same day with Pallaso.
Since then, the Promoters Association has been facing challenges as they recently came out to claim that the government is fighting them.
Juma Balunywa further claimed that the government doesn’t want them to streamline and regulate their own job.

When asked to weigh in between the old generation of band musicians and the new breed which makes more money, he quickly responded by ranking the older generation.
