    The Uganda Marketers Society(UMS) has elected a new secretariat. This was during their Annual General Meeting held on 4th May 2024 at Hotel Africana.

    The new leadership will steer the society to achieve its vision 2024-2026: “to become the leading body for marketing practitioners and professionals inspired towards the development, promotion, and application of world-class marketing leadership”.

    Charity Winnie Kamusiime – Asiimwe, a Chartered Marketer who has over 16 years in marketing across various sectors and one of the UMS co-founders was elected as the new president. She succeeds David Balikuddembe (Chartered Marketer) who has been serving the society as the President since March 2022.

    Speaking at the AGM, Charity Winnie Kamusiime promised togetherness and marketing excellence through innovation integrity, collaboration & sustainability as a collective effort to progress the society thus bringing value to the shareholders that include brands, organisations and marketers.

    The other elected members of the new secretariat include; Caroline Ampaire (Vice President), May Micwemirungi (Secretary General), Viola Mboneko Rusoke (Director Ethics and Integrity), John Birungi Babirukamu (Director Thought Leadership), James Asaba (Director Membership), Dear Jeanne (Director Events & Sponsorships), Primrose Kobusingye (Director Finance) and Danny Kwizera (Director Public Relations).

    Uganda Marketers Society is a membership body and is affiliated to the Chartered Institute of Marketing CIM-UK. CIM is the world’s largest community of marketers that strives for business leaders and opinion formers to recognise the positive contribution that professional marketing can bring to their organisations, the economy and wider society.
