Hon. Lillian Aber, the State Minister for Disaster Preparedness, Relief, and Refugees, as well as the Kitgum District Woman Representative, has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify her previous post about a dinner proposal with artist Fik Fameica.
After her post proposing a dinner date with the rapper garnered a massive 3.9K likes and triggered multiple headlines from online newspapers, Hon. Aber addressed the viral moment with humor and a call for perspective.
“A joke about taking @FIKFAMElCA for dinner attracts 3.9K likes and online newspapers writing all versions,” she remarked, adding laughing emojis to underline the lighthearted nature of her comment.
She then compared this to an update she posted about community engagement, which only attracted 563 likes. “Hehehe, Social Media. People enjoy ‘Lugambo’ vibes more as opposed to informative stories.”

To clear the air, Hon. Aber firmly stated that her intentions were purely fraternal, describing Fik Fameica as her “young brother.” She went on to express her support for Uganda’s burgeoning music industry, encouraging Ugandans to back their local artists.
Anyway, @FIKFAMElCA is my young brother, and I call upon our countrymen and women to support his career in the music industry. All our young artists should know that they have our support as leaders, and we are absolutely committed to making the music industry better for all of them.
She concluded her statement by highlighting Uganda’s rich talent in the creative arts, which, she emphasized, the world is beginning to recognize.
