Man commits suicide after city babe steals his Shs 7 million ‘kyeyo’ dime

Police in Kyengera are investigating a case of suspected suicide that happened at Channel 3 Lodge in Wakimese zone, Kyengera Town Council in Wakiso District.

The deceased was identified as Namugera Herbert aged 32 years.

Its alleged that the deceased left Ssembabule District and came to process his travel documents in preparation for employment abroad. He, however, got an adult entertainer one Brenda who stole all his money amounting to Shs 7 million shillings.

Namugera who was confused at that time called his best friend Lwiga Mohamad who escorted him to report the theft case to police. A case of theft was reported at Kyengera police station vide SD REF 21/10/03/2023.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident saying that “Police looked for one Brenda the whole day within the area but it seems she had shifted.”

According to Onyango, on the 11th/03/2023 at around 0930hrs, the lodge attendants knocked on the door where Habert was but there was no response.

“When they peeped from the bathroom window, they saw Habert hanging by a bed sheet in the bathroom. He had committed suicide and they reported the matter to police. A team of Police officers visited the scene, examined and documented it,” Onyango said.

By press time, the body had been taken to Mulago mortuary for postmortem.
