Hon. Balaam Barugahara, the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, has opened up about missing his signature orange t-shirt, which he used to wear frequently before assuming his ministerial role.

In an interview on NBS TV, the minister humorously lamented the high cost and inconvenience of maintaining luxurious suits, a requirement of his new position.

Balaam, who was appointed earlier this year, shared that the financial burden of buying suits and keeping them in pristine condition is taking a toll on him.

“I miss my orange t-shirt because it dries quickly when washed. This eliminates the need for ironing, hence saving on electricity,” he explained, noting how the simplicity of his t-shirt brought convenience to his life.

The minister went on to joke about how his current wardrobe, consisting mostly of suits, requires constant attention.

“These luxurious suits are giving me a hard time. They take long to dry, and I have to iron them every time they are washed,” he added.

In a conclusion, Balaam hinted that he might approach the Speaker of Parliament to request permission to wear his orange t-shirt at least twice a week, balancing both comfort and ministerial decorum.
