In a recent episode of his YouTube show, “Kasuku Live,” renowned journalist Isaac Katende, also known as Kasuku, reflected on the life and regrets of the late Joseph Tamale Mirundi.

Mirundi, a prominent figure in Ugandan journalism and former Presidential Press Secretary, passed away on August 14, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital Kisubi.

Kasuku, who worked closely with Mirundi for four years, shared that despite his illness, Mirundi felt dejected and unhappy towards the end of his life.

The journalist described Mirundi as someone who struggled with stress, depression, and financial dissatisfaction.

Among the regrets Mirundi reportedly had was losing his position as Presidential Press Secretary. Kasuku noted that Mirundi believed he was framed by enemies within the State House, which led to his dismissal.

Additionally, Mirundi felt a deep sense of low self-esteem and defeat as he watched his adversaries advance while he felt powerless.

Mirundi also expressed concerns that his enemies played a significant role in influencing his downfall.

These sentiments left a lasting impact on his state of mind during his final days.

Joseph Tamale Mirundi will be laid to rest on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at his ancestral home in Kalagala Village, Kaliisizo, Kyotera district.

His passing marks the end of a significant chapter in Ugandan journalism, as friends and colleagues remember both his contributions and the personal struggles he faced.
