Frank Gashumba spoke about the tragic passing of Tamale Mirundi, hinting on the circumstances that may have contributed to his demise.

Tamale Mirundi, a former presidential advisor and outspoken political analyst, passed away from a lung infection on Tuesday night at Kisubi Hospital.

Gashumba reflected on the challenges Mirundi faced after being dismissed from his role at State House. According to Gashumba, Mirundi’s life took a downward spiral after his termination, which he likened to being treated “like a dog.”

Ever since Mirundi was fired from State House like a dog, he’s never been the same. He lost direction and the touch of his life. His financial situation was desperate, and the government’s lack of support during his life was disgraceful. They only attempted to assist him when it was too late.

Gashumba’s statement further criticized the government for failing to provide adequate support to Mirundi while he was still alive.

He expressed frustration over the late intervention, arguing that the government’s efforts to help should have come sooner.

I have known Tamale Mirundi for 24 years, and we were close. Depression and financial stress led to his death. I would often meet him, and his car would be out of fuel. His salary was a pittance compared to his peers, who were earning significantly more. This government is a joke. They tried to treat him when it was already late. Why couldn’t they do the same when he was still alive?
