Eddy Yawe, the elder brother of Bobi Wine, talked about his family’s journey to success, attributing their wealth and achievements to the values instilled by their late father, Willington Jackson Sentamu.
According to Yawe, their father’s resilience and determination have been a driving force behind the family’s success.
Willington Jackson Sentamu, who once participated in the struggles of the LRA war, was a man of high hopes.
His expectations of reaping benefits from the struggle, however, were not realized. This disappointment became a catalyst for his children, including Eddy Yawe, Bobi Wine, Banjo Man, Mickie Wine, Daxx Vibez, and Irene Kayemba, to work hard and attain what their father could not.
You (the public) are just blowing it out of proportion, but there are very many rich people in the country.
Our dad was a rebel, we also followed him because we expected a lot of things from the struggle. We lost so many things; our farms, ranches and our late mum kept promising us that we would reap but we didn’t. So from then, we tried our best to fight and get to where we are on our own. Now the world sees us as people who have achieved something. We are still fighting to go onto the next level.
Eddy Yawe added that their success is not unique to the immediate family but extends to their relatives in Gomba, who have also made great success.
Our legacy comes from way back. We are hardworking, and I hope we act as examples to those people hustling that they can make something out of themselves from a bad situation.
