During a press conference held at the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) headquarters, renowned artist Eddy Kenzo raised concerns over the conduct of journalists, singling out NBS TV’s Brian Macona for asking unethical questions during media interviews.

Kenzo cited a specific incident involving Macona’s questioning of singer Jose Chameleone’s father, Mr. Gerald Mayanja, during the vigil of his late son, Humphrey Mayanja.

The singer described the question posed by Macona as disturbing and inappropriate, reflecting a lack of sensitivity and professionalism.

Despite Macona’s attempts to defend himself against Kenzo’s accusations during the presser, his explanations failed to appease the singer’s concerns.

Kenzo’s criticism highlights the importance of ethical standards in journalism and the need for media professionals to exercise sensitivity and tact when interviewing individuals, especially during sensitive occasions such as vigils and funerals.

The incident serves as a reminder to journalists to uphold the principles of integrity and respect in their reporting, fostering a more responsible and ethical media environment.
