Singer Mesach Semakula has disclosed that his family disowned him when he took the decision to pursue music as his career.
He explained that he was disowned for a period of about four years since his parents were not in agreement with what he had chosen to do.
He narrated that they wished him to study and land a professional job because music was not considered as something serious.
However, when Mesach turned out successful in his endeavours, everyone applauded his resilience and the efforts he invested in what he loved to becoming a star and a role model to many young people.
He stressed that the period when he had been disowned by his family, he would sleep anywhere he could find space as he had nowhere to run and seek shelter.
My family disowned me when I took the decision to pursue music as my career. I was disowned for over four years. I went on to sleep anywhere I could find because by then, pursuing music was a wrong decision. But now, no one can come out and claim that I made a wrong decision.
